You will play a key role in shaping how IT is delivered across the organisation. From scripting and deployment through to monitoring, patching, and incident response, your work will directly influence the stability, security, and scalability of our infrastructure.
The Role
You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our infrastructure, ensuring services remain reliable, secure, and compliant. Acting as an escalation point, you will take ownership of complex 2nd and 3rd line issues that require advanced technical expertise, delivering long-term solutions rather than quick fixes.
A major focus of the role is automation. You will proactively identify inefficiencies and design automated workflows that reduce manual effort, improve response times, and enhance operational consistency. You will also collaborate closely with Infrastructure Operations, Service Desk, and Field Services teams to embed automation into everyday processes and promote best practices across the business.
Key technologies and tools you will work with include:
- PowerShell (primary scripting and automation language)
- Python and Bash (Nice to have)
- Microsoft Azure
- Office 365 / Microsoft 365
- Ansible and Terraform
- Microsoft Intune
You will also document automation solutions clearly and share knowledge with colleagues, helping drive adoption and continuous improvement across the wider IT function.
About You
You are a technically strong infrastructure professional with demonstrable 2nd and 3rd line experience, but what really sets you apart is your problem-solving mindset and passion for automation. You are comfortable working under pressure, take ownership of issues, and enjoy improving how systems and teams operate.
Your background and strengths include experience with:
- 3rd line infrastructure support with an automation focus
- Cloud and Microsoft enterprise environments
- Scripting, workflow automation, and configuration management
- Structured service delivery and ITIL-aligned processes
You will bring strong communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are detail-oriented, process-driven, and committed to maintaining a stable and secure infrastructure.
If your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We value potential, curiosity, and a willingness to learn — and you may be exactly the right fit for their team.
