Job Description

Skilled Fabricator12 Month Contract Filton Inside IR35Pay Core days: £19.40 per hour Strong possibility of moving to -7-day fortnight: £24.25 per hour Working Pattern Core days: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 4:15pm Strong possibility of moving to -7-day fortnight: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday Week 2: Thursday and Friday7:00am to 6:45pm Morson is recruiting for an experienced Skilled Fabricator to join GKN Aerospace at its Filton site on an initial 12-month contract.

The role will involve using hand, electrical and pneumatic tools, along with bending machinery, to shape, form, fit and assemble metal components within specified drawing limits.

Candidates will work with materials including aluminium, stainless steel and titanium, producing components in accordance with strict aerospace quality, safety and manufacturing standards.

Role Responsibilities Shape, form, fit and assemble metal components to engineering drawings and specified tolerances.

Use hand, electrical and pneumatic tools, bending machinery, jigs and fixtures.

Work with materials including aluminium, stainless steel and titanium.

Carry out fitting, swaging, measuring and general fabrication activities.

Complete manufacturing work stages and update records using SAP.

Check that measuring and calibrated equipment is within date before use.

Identify and report defects or non-conformances to the Process Team Leader.

Follow site quality, health and safety, and housekeeping procedures.

Produce components accurately and to a right-first-time standard.

Skills and Experience Required Recognised apprenticeship, Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent in fabrication, sheet metal or a related discipline Experience working from technical drawings and tolerances Previous fabrication or sheet-metal experience Manufacturing or factory experience Aerospace experience would be advantageous Qualification certificates must be provided with the CVAdditional Information The interview process will include a face-to-face interview and may include a practical trade test lasting approximately two hours.

Baseline security screening, including a criminal record check, must be completed before starting.
