As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will maintain the engineering configuration, ensuring the overall design intent and integrity is maintained throughout the design lifecycle. This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based in Stoke Gifford, Bristol. This role provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Day-to-day, you will promote effective co-operation across Engineering and other functional teams. You will assist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers, to aid the development of business, resolution of technical and delivery issues, and ensure that the customer is fully briefed and informed of progress.
You will ensure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities. You will also ensure task and project risks are communicated and managed appropriately. Additionally, you will produce, review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports as assigned.
Essential experience of the Principal Mechanical Engineer:
- You are someone who owns and delivers, champions high performance and is courageous to challenge the status quo.
- Knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice.
- Ability to build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders.
- Experience leading a team.
- Nuclear experience is not a necessity; we welcome applications from all engineering backgrounds.
Qualifications for the Principal Mechanical Engineer:
- Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Holds or has the ability to obtain Chartered status.
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
