Marson are exclusively recruiting for an Operational Buyer to join a world renowned Aerospace company at their Filton site. This is a fast-paced, site-based role focused on supplier scheduling, delivery performance, and ensuring continuity of supply in line with production requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining material flow into a complex manufacturing environment, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to prevent shortages and improve supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier delivery performance across a portfolio of approximately £10M spend
  • Schedule suppliers in line with Master Production Schedule (MPS)
  • Maintain accurate data within MRP/ERP systems
  • Update and track supplier promise dates to ensure accuracy
  • Identify and escalate supply risks, bottlenecks, and constraints
  • Support Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and external supply reviews
  • Drive ongoing supplier performance improvements
  • Manage day-to-day supplier relationships and communication
  • Lead or support supplier review meetings and scorecard processes
  • Work closely with internal functions including production, receiving, and quality teams
  • Support supplier non-conformance, returns, and claims processes
  • Resolve invoice queries to ensure timely supplier payment
  • Ensure adherence to procurement processes and health & safety standards

Key Requirements

  • Essential Degree qualified OR 2 years' experience in procurement / supply chain
  • Strong experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Knowledge of MRP / ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Experience managing suppliers and delivery performance
  • Strong Excel / IT skills
  • Desirable APICS / MCIPS qualification
  • Business-related degree
  • Experience in aerospace or highly regulated industries

Additional Information

Regular travel to supplier sites may be required. This is a hands-on, operational role focused on ensuring materials are delivered on time to support production. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, reactive environment.
