We are currently recruiting for Meter Readers to join a leading provider of metering services within the UK energy retail sector. This position will cover Bristol and offers a pay rate of £13.23 (PAYE).
This role involves visiting residential and commercial properties to read gas, electricity and water meters, ensuring customers are billed accurately and energy usage data is recorded correctly. This is a field-based outdoor role where you will work independently, travelling between properties throughout the day. You will be responsible for planning your route, gaining access to meters located both inside and outside properties, and providing excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public. Full training will be provided, including an initial training period and ongoing support from your field manager, making this a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and managing their own schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Visit residential and commercial properties to obtain accurate meter readings
- Use a handheld device to record readings and manage your daily route
- Plan visits to ensure access to meters located both inside and outside properties
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public
- Ensure all readings and data are recorded accurately
- Work independently while maintaining communication with the wider metering team
- Follow company health & safety procedures at all times
- Work efficiently to meet daily targets and schedules
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to walk several miles per day
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail when recording information
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage your own workload
Successful candidates will be required to:
- Provide 5 years employment history
- Pass a DBS check
- Complete right to work and driving licence checks
- Full training provided, including an initial training programme and ongoing support
- Company vehicle provided for business use
- Performance related bonus scheme
- Long-term opportunity with potential progression into senior roles or field management
