Our client is seeking Embedded Software V&V Engineers for contracts, based in either Bristol or Stevenage. The team creates complex, highly reliable real-time software that powers missile systems and their components, ensuring that they provide the performance and functionality users require when they need it. Involved all the way through development β from concept studies through trials firings and the move into production and service.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the verification and validation activities on real-time systems application software for the next generation of Missile Systems.
- The role requires taking requirements, developing them into robust test cases, preparing and executing tests, capturing data, and delivering actionable feedback to project teams.
- You will have to draw upon your strong practical problem-solving skills, data acquisition expertise, and adaptability.
Skills required:
- Strong experience of V&V activities in an embedded software environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Good documentation skills.
- Ability to turn requirements into structured test cases and procedures.
- Experience of working in a lab environment on an electro mechanical product running embedded software.
- Good working knowledge of the complete software engineering lifecycle.
- Scripting abilities.
- Embedded software development experience using Ada and/or C/C++.
Advantageous:
- Safety critical systems.
- Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C & DO-330.
- Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems.
- Model Driven Design.
- Knowledge of test automation methods.
- Knowledge of DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, LDRABreakpoint Analysis.
- Experience of Focused Code Reviews.
