Location: Client offices at Aztec West, Bristol x3 days per week AND x2 days per week remote working. (Note - there may be an infrequent requirement to visit the Project site in Somerset).

Duration: Approval until end December 2026 (with HIGH probability of renewal)

Reports to: Configuration Manager

Morson Edge are working with a major player in the Energy sector who have a current contract requirement for a Configuration Change Engineer to join their established Project team. All work is associated with a major nuclear energy infrastructure Project in the Southwest. This assignment will be based at our client's offices at Aztec West in Bristol and is offered on a hybrid basis.

Principal Accountabilities

  • To support the Change Control Branch of Configuration Assurance in coordinating Project activities within the Configuration Management processes.
  • This will involve providing technical assistance and managing activities so that the Configuration Management processes owned by Configuration Assurance are properly, adequately and efficiently implemented across the project.
  • Along with the rest of the Change Control Team, the Configuration Engineer will be the preferred point of contact for configuration management processes.
  • In particular, the technical point of contact for Engineering Managers and Design Entities for all configuration management topics.
  • You will coordinate the contributions from Project stakeholders in the progression of configuration management processes including resolution of Open Points, Design Changes, referential changes, and progressing agreements on Technical Interface attributes.
  • You will be responsible for controlling, supporting, overall steering and monitoring of the end-to-end configuration activities.
  • You will be involved in Design Handovers to the Client to ensure configuration control is maintained.
  • You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of data-centric ways of working for managing design configuration.

Criteria: Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Typically a degree in a relevant science or engineering subject or strong technical background preferred.
  • Experience within the Nuclear Industry - advantageous (not essential).
  • Experience of process development and application within engineering Projects.
  • Understanding of equipment engineering requirements.
  • Knowledge of design processes and activities related to Nuclear Industry - advantageous (not essential).
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM.
  • Proficient project management, organisational and coordination skills.
  • Great communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders - Decision making and escalation ability for resolution of issues.
  • Knowledge of budget and schedule management.
