Morson are seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to support our Operations team in delivering high-quality products on time and in line with customer expectations and regulatory standards. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving quality improvements, reducing customer escapes and internal/external concessions, and supporting the implementation of robust quality and continuous-improvement tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Operations team in delivering products on time and to the quality standards required by our customers.
- Data analysis experience and understanding of Excel.
- Root Cause Analysis experience.
- Continually reduce customer escapes, internal and external concessions, and the overall cost of non-quality through the application of appropriate quality and continuous improvement tools.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures and external customer and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment and organise 5S initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to the group Quality Management System and compliance with national and regulatory requirements including ESAA Part 21, EN 9100 and NADCAP.
- Prepare for and contribute to external audits with customers and regulatory bodies.
- Schedule and manage product and process audits and any resultant non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Develop and lead customer escape prevention plans.
- Develop and lead concession reduction plans.
- Apply key quality tools such as PFMEA, Gauge R&R, 8D, SPC and support others in the application of these tools.
Candidate Skills & Requirements:
- Support the preparation of quality plans for both new products and new customers.
- Develop and lead zero concessions plans for new products at entry into service.
- Ensure that first article (FAI/PPAP) reports are correctly completed for any new or modified parts.
- Develop and lead non-quality cost (CoNQ) reduction plans.
- Support operations to eliminate waste in the production processes.
- Operate within the quality budget.
- Engineering related degree or HNC, or equivalent experience.
- Quality assurance experience in a technical and/or manufacturing environment.
- Experience of complex problem solving and the delivery of improvement projects.
- Experience of the application of key quality tools (PFMEA, 8D, 6 Sigma).
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience of quality planning for the introduction of new products.
- Experience of aerospace quality standards and regulations.
- Working knowledge of French while beneficial is not essential.
