Shift Options: 4 on / 4 off (days & nights) OR Days Only

Salary: £56,000 – £59,000. Days only: Up to £50,000 (depending on experience)

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team within a fully automated, 24/7 food manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role working with modern production technology where you'll play a key part in maintaining performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across site operations. Whether you prefer a shift-based role with enhanced earning potential or a more traditional days-only pattern, both options are available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance across production equipment
  • Support production during start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
  • Diagnose faults using control systems and data (including PLCs)
  • Work across processing, packaging, bulk handling, and site services
  • Identify and implement improvements to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Support energy reduction, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with production, hygiene, and safety teams

What We're Looking For

  • Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, Degree or equivalent)
  • Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or automated environments
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills (electrical and mechanical)
  • Understanding of health & safety legislation (e.g. PUWER; IOSH desirable)
  • A proactive approach with the ability to anticipate and solve problems
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
