We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join a dynamic team specialising in the management, design, and maintenance of key infrastructure and building assets. This role supports a market-leading Complex Facilities business delivering minor building fit-out projects for national clients, including government departments.

You will be responsible for providing a full range of surveying services such as asset capture, condition surveys (including historic buildings), void surveys, and specialist surveys like RAAC and fire compliance for cell doors.

Working closely with advisory teams, you will help clients maximise asset management efficiency and contribute to their Net Zero ambitions by supporting the Energy Transition Agenda. The role involves technical input across all project stages, from fee build-up and client liaison to project management, delivery, and close-out.

Following specialist training, you will also act as Principal Designer, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations on refurbishment and new build schemes.

This position requires a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, contract management, and multi-disciplinary collaboration, particularly within sectors such as Health, Education, and Justice. You will play a key role in defect analysis, remediation, and planned maintenance strategy, supporting forward asset management and sustainability goals.

Skills:

  • Chartered Member or Associate Member of RICS (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in building surveying across diverse teams and technical services
  • Expertise in asset building surveys and asset condition assessments
  • Project and contract management experience, including procurement and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Planning, Health & Safety, Environmental and Sustainability standards
  • Understanding of Net Zero Carbon initiatives and Energy Transition principles
  • Experience with specialist surveys including RAAC and fire compliance
