Morson is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of our defence client based in Bolton. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing manufacturing environment, supporting complex products across multiple projects. You will be a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring products are built efficiently, right first time, and to budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile, maintain and update Manufacturing Instructions
- Design, commission and prove associated tooling
- Support industrial validation activities, including FMEAs, FAIs and related processes
- Resolve technical issues arising during the manufacturing process
- Implement route card changes resulting from rework activities
- Manage configuration control by embodying design modifications into Manufacturing Instructions
- Support the Non-Conformance process using SAP
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support manufacturing delivery
Skills & Experience Required
- Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 / TR23 / TR21 with ONC Level 3 OR formal further education qualification to HNC (or equivalent) with relevant engineering experience - essential
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within an engineering or manufacturing discipline
- Ability to interpret design drawings and produce clear Manufacturing Build Instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators
- Experience of electronic sub-assembly manufacture through to system-level builds
- Knowledge of assembly processes for small/miniature electro-mechanical actuation systems
- Strong team-working capability with the ability to contribute in a collaborative environment
- Clear understanding of customer requirements and the ability to respond effectively
- Ability to work to defined company processes and procedures
- Strong communication skills, able to engage at all levels of the organisation
