The Opportunity
Morson are recruiting for a Project Analyst on behalf of a leading aerospace and defence company, based at their Samlesbury site. The Project Analyst will be part of the FP&A Project Performance function, delivering ongoing support across Project Finance and the wider Finance function. The role focuses on ensuring projects are delivered effectively and profitably through accurate reporting, forward-looking forecasts and high-quality financial insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end Project Finance support, owning financial aspects across the full project lifecycle from setup through to close.
- Deliver high-quality financial planning, forecasting and performance insight to support effective decision-making and drive project performance.
- Produce accurate and timely month-end and project reporting, including management reports, contract status and working capital analysis.
- Support budgets, quarterly forecasts and bid activity, working closely with Finance Business Partners and project teams.
- Ensure robust financial controls, governance and compliance, supporting internal and external audits as required.
- Drive continuous improvement, contributing to finance modernisation, digital reporting and data-driven ways of working.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience in Project Finance, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of IFRS / GAAP, including IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office tools.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Infor LN).
- Exposure to reporting and analytics tools such as SAP BPC/SAC, Cognos or Tableau.
- Understanding of best practice in financial control and governance.
Qualifications:
- Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience ACA / ACCA / CIMA preferred.
