About the role:

We are looking for a Manufacturing Planner to work within the Engineering Function to support new business development as well as existing programs. The Manufacturing Planner role provides ownership and accountability of the creation/maintenance of electronic work packages for each maintenance, repair or modification input using GoldESP IG1 tool in accordance with PT145 and policy and processes. This role is to support delivery of maintenance and modification support of the E7 Wedgetail Mk1 AEW&C Aircraft during its initial production phase in Birmingham.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Authors technical work instructions to approved process & regulatory requirements, writing, editing & proof-reading text, collating & verifying technical/engineering information, creating and editing bespoke work instructions.
  • Interprets multiple source formats of approved engineering data from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Design Organisation, or Applicable Customer controlled Maintenance data sources to produce a standardised, easy to use & logical set of production/manufacturing plans with consideration of regulatory requirements for accurate maintenance recording.
  • Supports the creation, receipt and delivery of multiple complex electronic manufacturing plans/work packages.
  • Manages configuration control of plan sets including engineering baseline establishment lists, manufacturing work instructions (Master Plans), associated aircraft specific plans (A/C Work Orders) and Nonconformance Report (NCR) Work Orders (WOs).
  • Managing the workflow of technical queries from the shop floor to key engineering functions and maintaining/reporting on associated metrics.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experienced in scheduled maintenance, repair and modification of aircraft/components.
  • Capable of creating detailed work instructions using technical writing ensuring all requirements and work recording measures are met.
  • Proven working knowledge of Engineering Resource Planning tools such as GoldESP IG1.
  • An excellent communicator, with a demonstrable ability to communicate and understand the technical work requirements of the team in order that key business targets are met.
  • Working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) processes, and the application of these requirements within their area of accountability, responsibility and authority.
  • Capable of understanding and interpreting Technical Documents, Technical Drawings and/or associated Authorised Technical Publications (ATP’s), to provide guidance and support to the teams working on the aircraft or in the production of Work orders.
  • Capable of working and communicating within management levels, cross functional areas and the customer effectively.
  • Capable and experienced in sequencing and controlling demanding workloads, on time, to budget and to the required standard.
  • Knowledge of the air system scheduled maintenance to enable effective review, acceptance and rejection of SoW, AWRs, deferred work etc at the pre-input phase.
