Pay Rate: £19.00 – 21.00 (PAYE Rate - Negotiable Based on Experience)

Morson Edge are looking for a Loading Shovel Driver in Chawston, Bedfordshire, to work on a mobile mixing plant (Aggregates / Concrete), supporting major highway projects in the region, offering long term work.

The role will involve:

  • Working around a mobile mixing plant (Readymix), operating a Loading Shovel on site, to move and load materials into various bins, hoppers and crushers, ensuring consistent supply of material, including concrete.
  • Helping to clean the mixer, digging out under machines and cleaning belts, while ensuring machinery is maintained and stockpiles are managed.
  • Ensuring the safe operation of machinery on site.
  • Liaising with taking deliveries and operating a Battery Operated Breaker for short periods of time.

Previous experience working on mobile mixing plants or RMX plants would be advantageous.

Applicable candidates ideally will have:

  • Previous experience working in a similar environment, such as on a concrete / aggregates mixing plant.
  • A wealth of experience operating Loading Shovel in a similar environment.
  • A valid CPCS / NPORS Card for Wheeled Loading Shovel.
  • Fit For Work / Safety Critical medical.
  • Highways Passport (Highly preferred but can be supplied for the right person).
  • Highways Common Induction (Highly preferred but can be supplied for the right person).
  • No HAVS restrictions (Allowing short term operation of Battery Operated Breaker on site).
  • A valid MP Connect Card (Preferred but can be supplied for the right person).
  • An understanding of health and safety regulations within construction aggregates.
  • Strong communication skills, being punctual, reliable and a team player.
