About the Company

Our client is a leading provider of industrial services, supporting major infrastructure, engineering, energy, defence, and construction projects across the UK. Due to significant workforce growth at Hinkley Point C, they are looking to strengthen their People team with the addition of an HR Advisor.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams in industrial environments. Supporting a predominantly blue-collar workforce, you will play a key role in delivering practical HR support while helping managers navigate a wide range of people matters. Employee Relations will be a major focus of the position, and the successful candidate will be comfortable managing casework from start to finish, advising managers, and building strong working relationships across site-based operations. The role is fast-paced and ever-changing, requiring someone who can adapt quickly to operational demands, shifting priorities, and the needs of a large workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees.
  • Manage Employee Relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance, conduct, and absence management matters.
  • Support investigations and employee meetings, ensuring fair and compliant outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with operational management teams across site locations.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and in line with employment legislation.
  • Support employee engagement and workforce initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning activities where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the People function.

About You

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or People Advisor role.
  • Strong Employee Relations experience with the ability to manage casework independently.
  • Experience supporting blue-collar, industrial, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or operational workforces.
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards qualification is desirable.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
