We're seeking a Regional Design Team Manager to lead our internal design resources and ensure high-quality outputs, primarily on water-based infrastructure and projects. You'll manage multidisciplinary teams, oversee technical governance, and drive continuous improvement in design delivery. From pre-contract mobilisation to project completion, you'll ensure designs meet client expectations, regulatory standards, and programme requirements. This role combines leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic input—making it ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical detail with big-picture thinking.
Please note that this role is a hybrid role where you will be expected to attend the office 2-3 times a week. The contractual office base is flexible and can be at Ilkeston. This can be discussed further at interview.
What We're Looking For
- A strong leader with experience managing internal design teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and resource planning.
- Proven experience in design leadership within water or wastewater sectors (ESSENTIAL).
- Knowledge of CDM regulations, technical governance, and compliance.
- Familiarity with design programme planning, cost control, and value engineering.
- Degree in Engineering or Design Management; Chartered Engineer status (or working towards).
- Experience with BIM and digital design tools; project management certification desirable.
