We are currently recruiting for a Skilled/Indentured Skilled worker to work on site at our offices in Yeovil. The role will involve CNC Turning of Aerospace equipment, in accordance with Manufacturing Instructions, Specifications and Customer/Regulator Requirements, working within an empowered team environment to meet delivery requirements and reporting directly to the Team Lead.
The CNC Turner role involves manufacturing aerospace components from start to finish using 2-axis CNC lathes, including setting and running bespoke work to strict aerospace and customer specifications. The position requires full responsibility for quality through Operator Control of Quality (OCQ), ensuring all parts meet customer standards. The CNC Turner must interpret engineering drawings, follow process documentation, and deliver work on time within a lean manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have machining experience in CNC and/or manual turning, preferably with Mazatrol/Mazak controls, and be competent using hand measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges. A strong understanding of health and safety, adherence to company processes, and the ability to work in a customer-focused, target-driven environment are essential. Experience in aerospace manufacturing and awareness of safety-critical work are highly valued.
The role also requires teamwork, flexibility, initiative, PC literacy, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Additional training will be provided as needed, including health & safety, 5S, manual handling, and PC skills.
This will be 34.5 hours a week starting at 7am-3:30pm for 1 month, then after completed training you will be on nights for the remainder.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Full BPSS Screening (Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.
