Morson Edge are currently seeking an Issue Centre Custodian on a permanent basis to be based at RNAS Yeovilton.
JOB PURPOSE
The WBM Issue Centre Custodian is responsible to the WMS Tool Controller for:
- The day-to-day supervision of associated Issue Centre and ASSE/GSE/FLAP iaw MAA MRP and local policy.
- The day-to-day supervision of Issue Centre personnel.
- The day-to-day running of associated hangar and services.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS
- Ensure WBM Tool Control/Management systems are adhered to iaw MAA MRP and local policy. This includes but not limited to:
- Ensure that the tool control staff provides a full service to their AoR, providing and maintaining tooling, tool outfits and TME (Test & Measuring Equipment), whilst ensuring support to other units where tooling/TME is available.
- Restrict and control access to the issue centre/store at all times.
- Ensure that no items including Tools / PPE or FLAP are released from the Issue Centre without an appropriate Tally and signature.
- Control all issued equipment/stores held against the Unit Equipment Table entitlement.
- Ensuring that complex or multi-item tools have a contents list of individual components. Update as necessary when the tool is modified. A duplicate master list is to be retained within the Issue Centre.
- Ensuring that all tools have a dedicated and clearly marked location within the store or within tool kits.
- The maintenance of tool kit Deficiency lists.
- Ensuring that where a tool is removed for replacement, repair, calibration or loan/detachment the correct process is followed.
- Logistical oversight of the control of aircraft spares entering and leaving the hangar, ensuring parts are packaged correctly IAW RA4809.
- Timely demanding and segregation of replacement tools/items as necessary.
- Ensuring local manufactured/modified tools/toolkits are authorised. Informing the WMS Tool Controller as appropriate.
- Ensuring that visitors or working party tools are registered on arrival, controlled throughout and checked on departure.
- Responsible for the application of OP 345 (Hangar 9).
- Responsible for the Issue Centre Operatives. This includes but not limited to:
- Ensuring personnel are trained, competent and authorised to the correct standard iaw MRP and Local policy - Highlighting any concerns to the WMS Tool Controller in the first instance.
- Highlighting any concerns to the WMS Tool Controller if unforeseen staffing shortages compromise the safety integrity of the section.
- Control the day-to-day support of ASSE/GSE. This includes but not limited to:
- The custodian and co-ordination of any internal servicing requirements (daily and weekly servicing and replenishment) and the co-ordination of equipment external servicing, informing the WMS Tool Controller for oversight, including any supporting documentation, ensuring correct levels of supporting equipment.
- Control the Servicing and Maintenance of all Mechanical Handling Equipment.
- Ensuring adequate ASSE/GSE is available.
- Ensuring ASSE/GSE is correctly stowed and identified within the hangar environment.
- Ensuring U/S ASSE/GSE is unavailable for use.
- Control the day-to-day support of FLAP. This includes but not limited to:
- Ensure that the correct scale and scope of FLAP is available to support their AoR engineering team.
- Ensuring that stock levels are maintained to meet requirement.
- Ensuring that holdings meet forecast and probable maintenance requirements.
- Ensuring appropriate and in-date turnover of holdings and stock rotation.
- Ensuring that an up-to-date Material Hazard Data Sheet (MHDS) and COSHH Assessment for all items are available for reading.
- Maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the FLAP store/areas.
- Ensuring Temperature monitoring of FLAP is conducted and recorded iaw MRP and local policy.
- Conduct the day-to-day supervision of the hangar and all of its associated services (LP air, heating, lighting), liaison with WMS Tool Controller and the Air Station Support services - Highlighting any concerns to the area manager.
- Attend Internal meetings with the WMS Tool Controller to support the WBM Tooling, Hangarage, and ASSE/GSE solution.
- Attend External meetings to support the WBM Tooling, Hangarage, and ASSE/GSE solution when required by the WMS Tool Controller.
- Carry out any task in support of the contract as allocated by WMS Tool Controller.
- Hold Tooling AinU's.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience of supervising personnel.
- Knowledge of Aircraft Tool Control procedures preferably attended a unit/section Tool Controller course.
- Basic understanding of aircraft materiel management and MOD Supply Chain including stock control processes would be beneficial.
- This is not a technical position but experience in an engineering environment would be an advantage.
