An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Aircraft Maintenance Planner to support aircraft line and base maintenance operations on the A400M aircraft within a highly regulated aviation environment. This role focuses on the pre-input planning of aircraft maintenance, ensuring all activities are delivered in line with MAA Part 145 regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for creating detailed work packs, planning maintenance inputs, and providing on-site planning support to production teams. Key Responsibilities
- Plan aircraft line and base maintenance inputs in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Review customer work packs to ensure compliance with approved maintenance scope
- Build and assemble scheduled and unscheduled work packages, including milestones, resource planning, and critical path analysis
- Create and review task cards, identifying complex and safety-critical activities
- Produce equipment summary reports, including tooling, access, parts, and materials
- Identify tasks requiring external support or subcontract services
- Ensure all work content is assessed for safety, complexity, and regulatory requirements
- Apply accurate task time estimates and ensure completeness of documentation
- Organise and chair pre-input meetings with multiple stakeholders
- Provide ongoing planning support to production teams
- Ensure full compliance with organisational procedures and regulatory standards
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of personal and operational health and safety responsibilities
- Support compliance with aviation safety policies and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements
- Follow all aviation security procedures and policies
- Promote a safe and compliant working environment at all times
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience using aircraft technical documentation to plan maintenance activities and estimate ground time
- Strong knowledge of MAA regulations and CAMO / Part 145 interface requirements
- Previous experience in aircraft maintenance or production planning (civil or military)
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a logical approach to task sequencing
- Ability to plan tasks with consideration for Human Factors
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience using AMOS or similar maintenance planning systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Desirable Skills
- Recognised aircraft engineering qualification
- Strong analytical, project management, or quantitative skills
- Knowledge of lean management principles
- Understanding of financial, commercial, and procurement processes within maintenance operations
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Working Environment
- Based at RAF Brize Norton
- 5x5x4 day shift pattern (07:00–19:00)
