We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Senior Cost Manager, or Commercial Manager to take a lead role on a prestigious infrastructure programme. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional with extensive cost management experience to join a high-performing team delivering complex, high-value projects. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, lead project teams, and drive successful commercial outcomes across major infrastructure programmes.
The Opportunity
You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of cost and commercial management services on large or complex commissions, acting as the primary client interface and ensuring that project objectives are achieved through the delivery of a high-quality, value-added service. We are looking for an individual who is confident managing stakeholders at all levels, comfortable leading challenging commercial discussions, and capable of bringing out the best in both clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of cost and commercial management services across major infrastructure programmes.
- Act as the primary day-to-day client contact, building strong and trusted relationships.
- Take responsibility for end-to-end commission delivery, ensuring quality, performance, and client satisfaction.
- Provide commercial leadership and strategic advice throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage post-contract commercial administration and cost control processes.
- Oversee contract management activities, ensuring compliance and effective risk management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project teams to achieve successful outcomes.
- Support business growth through excellent client service and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Cost Management and/or Commercial Management.
- Strong experience administering NEC contracts, particularly NEC3/NEC4 Option C (Target Cost).
- Extensive post-contract administration experience.
- Experience delivering major programmes and large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Background within sectors such as: Rail, Aviation, Power & Energy, Highways, Utilities, Other major infrastructure environments.
- Experience leading and managing teams and client relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- MRICS or working towards professional chartership.
- Relevant degree qualification or equivalent experience.
