We are currently seeking an experienced Boiler Supervisor (Boiler System Owner) to take responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of boiler plant across a large, regulated estate. This is a critical leadership role for a technically strong professional with proven experience supervising boiler systems in high-risk environments. You will act as the appointed system owner for steam and hot water boilers and associated equipment, ensuring all statutory, contractual, and operational requirements are always met.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the appointed Boiler System Owner for all boiler plant.
  • Ensure full compliance with PSSR, Written Schemes of Examination (Parts 1 & 2) and CEA BG guidance.
  • Supervise boiler operations, start-up, shutdown and abnormal events.
  • Develop, implement and control SOPs, MOPs and EOPs.
  • Manage and assess boiler operator competence, authorisations and training.
  • Oversee PPM and reactive maintenance in line with SFG20 and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate specialist contractors, reviewing RAMS and verifying competence.
  • Maintain inspection-ready documentation, logbooks and CAFM records.
  • Act as the technical interface with insurers, Mechanical Approved Persons and internal stakeholders.
  • Support statutory inspections and audits, ensuring positive compliance outcomes.

What we require from you:

  • Significant experience supervising steam and/or hot water boiler plant in a high-risk environment (essential).
  • Strong working knowledge of PSSR, WSE and boiler Safe Systems of Work (essential).
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring and assessing technical teams.
  • Methodical, safety-led approach with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices.
  • Experience acting as a named System Owner or Duty Holder (desirable).
  • Background within regulated estates such as government, research or healthcare (desirable).
  • Strong documentation, reporting and stakeholder communication skills.
