Location: Stevenage | Monday–Friday | 37 hours per week
We are looking for a 2nd Line Backup & Storage Engineer to join a skilled team of 2nd and 3rd Line engineers in Stevenage. You will provide day-to-day support, management and development of enterprise storage and backup platforms, supporting a high-profile user community and working closely with customers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support large-scale NetApp storage and Cohesity backup environments across three data centres.
- Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests and problems within agreed SLAs and KPIs.
- Handle Severity 1 and 2 incidents and contribute to Root Cause Analysis.
- Administer NAS and SAN environments, including VMware integration, fabric switching and zoning.
- Monitor capacity, availability, performance and resilience, proactively identifying and resolving risks.
- Plan and implement storage software and firmware upgrades.
- Install and commission new storage and backup hardware.
- Raise and present change requests while following change, security and configuration processes.
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous service improvement and knowledge sharing.
About You
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience with NetApp storage in an enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of NetApp hardware and general NAS/SAN principles.
- Understanding of VMware integration with NetApp.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
- Experience working to SLAs and established IT service processes.
