In this role, you will act as a servant leader for up to three cross-functional agile teams, helping them deliver value efficiently while supporting continuous improvement and agile maturity across the organisation.
You will work closely with Digital/Agile Product Owners and Tech Leads, shaping product vision, roadmaps, release plans, and backlog management, while removing impediments and improving flow throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Coach teams to improve velocity, flow, delivery predictability, and agile maturity
- Support Product Owners with product vision, roadmaps, MVPs, and feature definition
- Manage backlogs for business and technical stories and support estimation and refinement
- Identify, track, and escalate risks, blockers, and dependencies
- Champion agile behaviours and continuous improvement within teams and the wider organisation
- Contribute to portfolio reporting and governance requirements
- Mentor Apprentice or less experienced Scrum Masters
- Facilitate feature kick-offs and initiation of new types of work
- Support the improvement of agile tooling and contribute to the Scrum Master Community of Practice
- Operate in line with the Bank’s Risk Management Framework and relevant compliance policies
This is a highly visible role where you will be part of a client-wide transformation, helping the organisation modernise delivery, embed agile practices, and deliver value more effectively to the business. Preference will be given to candidates with a banking background, or, at a minimum, extensive experience in financial services.
You will bring proven experience in leading agile software delivery teams, managing multiple agile teams, and building high-performing, self-sufficient teams. Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with resilience and a continuous improvement mindset. You will have deep knowledge of Scrum and Kanban, with broader agile framework awareness (SAFe experience desirable), and hands-on experience with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Confluence.
Key Requirements / Skills:- Experience leading agile delivery teams and supporting up to three teams concurrently
- Knowledge of agile engineering practices such as user stories, BDD, TDD, automation, and continuous testing
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and DevOps environments
- Ability to assess team maturity and implement improvements
- Experience working in less mature agile organisations, supporting Product Ownership growth
- Comfortable working closely with software development teams, with varying levels of technical depth
- Preference for candidates with a banking background or extensive financial services experience
