We are seeking a highly experienced Core Banking Modernisation Implementation Leader to join a major transformation programme within a leading financial services organisation. This is a senior leadership role with accountability for the successful implementation and delivery of a large-scale Core Banking modernisation initiative, overseeing the execution of platform deployment, integration, migration, and operational readiness across Savings and Lending products.
The role will be instrumental in delivering the Bank's transformation agenda through the replacement and modernisation of legacy core banking platforms. The successful candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience leading complex Core Banking implementations, with a strong focus on execution, delivery, integration, migration, and business adoption within highly regulated financial services environments.
This is not a traditional programme management position focused primarily on governance and reporting. We are specifically seeking an implementation-focused leader who has successfully delivered end-to-end Core Banking transformations, taking ownership from solution selection and mobilisation through implementation, integration, migration, testing, deployment, and transition into live operations.
A key requirement is deep experience implementing Core Banking solutions supporting Savings and Lending products, including customer onboarding, account servicing, lending lifecycle management, interest calculation, payments, collections, and regulatory reporting. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record delivering complex platform implementations involving product migrations, customer migrations, operational process transformation, and integration across multiple technology domains.
The successful individual will act as the senior delivery authority for the Core Banking implementation, owning the execution roadmap and ensuring the target platform is successfully integrated with the wider banking ecosystem. This includes digital banking channels, CRM, ERP, SAP platforms, payments infrastructure, finance systems, data warehouses, customer servicing applications, regulatory reporting solutions, and external third-party providers. Experience delivering API-led, event-driven, middleware, and cloud-based integration architectures is highly desirable.
The role requires strong leadership across multidisciplinary delivery teams, including technology, architecture, operations, product, testing, migration, data, risk, compliance, and third-party implementation partners. You will be responsible for driving execution across all implementation workstreams, ensuring delivery milestones are achieved, dependencies are managed, risks are mitigated, and business outcomes are realised.
Candidates should possess significant experience leading Core Banking platform implementation programmes, including vendor selection, implementation partner management, solution mobilisation, environment readiness, integration delivery, migration planning, testing strategy, cutover execution, and hypercare support. Experience supporting RFP processes, vendor evaluations, and commercial engagement with Core Banking providers is highly desirable.
Experience working with modern Core Banking platforms such as iGTB, Temenos Transact (T24), Thought Machine Vault, Mambu, Finacle, FIS Profile, Oracle FLEXCUBE, Finastra Essence, Finastra Fusion Phoenix, or similar platforms will be highly advantageous.
The successful candidate will work closely with executive stakeholders, business leaders, architects, and operational teams to ensure the future-state Core Banking platform is delivered successfully and supports the Bank's long-term growth, customer experience, operational efficiency, and regulatory requirements.
Experience delivering Target Operating Model (TOM) implementation alongside Core Banking transformation programmes is highly desirable. This includes process redesign, operational readiness, service model implementation, governance establishment, organisational change, and capability uplift activities required to support successful platform adoption.
We are looking for a senior implementation leader with extensive experience delivering large-scale banking technology transformations, exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, and a proven ability to lead complex delivery organisations through significant technology and business change. Experience across Agile, SAFe, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies will be beneficial.
This is an initial 12-month contract offering a unique opportunity to lead the implementation of one of the organisation's most strategically important transformation initiatives, delivering modern Core Banking capabilities that will underpin the future growth and scalability of the Bank.
