The Project Manager will lead the delivery of the ‘Transforming Reservations to Cash (R2C)’ initiative within Finance Operations, driving a structured programme of process, systems, technology and control enhancements across the end‑to‑end lifecycle.
The role requires a hands-on delivery leader who can operate in a complex environment, engage senior stakeholders, and drive decisions through to execution. You will assess current-state processes, identify improvement opportunities, and translate analysis into practical, data-led solutions that improve financial accuracy, efficiency and control.
Success in this role depends on strong stakeholder management across Finance, Commercial, Legal, Operations and Technology, with a clear focus on accountability, momentum, and outcomes. Strong analytical ability with exceptional relationship skills, while demonstrating gravitas are key attributes for this role.
Key Responsibilities- End‑to‑End Ownership of R2C Transformation: Own the full delivery lifecycle of the R2C transformation from definition through execution, with accountability for scope, outcome, timelines and budget. Help the R2C GPO to shape and deliver an integrated R2C roadmap ensuring alignment to business priorities and measurable value.
- Process and Operating Model Transformation: Build a strong understanding of R2C processes, operating models, and enabling technologies to inform practical, effective solution design. Lead analysis of current‑state processes and help design future‑state operating models using ESSA principles (Eliminate, Simplify, Standardise, Automate). Challenge sub‑optimal designs and ensure technology drives real efficiency rather than automating inefficiency.
- Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Engage senior stakeholders and governance forums with clear insights, options and recommendations. Influence stakeholders to maintain alignment and momentum across the transformation, influencing and shaping decision making to support transformation objectives. Maintain disciplined project cadence, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Governance & Risk Management: Establish ‘fit-for purpose’ governance, including plans, budgets, dependencies, and reporting. Proactively manage risk and issues to maintain confidence and momentum in delivery.
- Delivery Leadership: Lead day-to-day execution across cross-functional teams spanning Finance, Technology and Operations. Proactively identify and access any challenges, remove blockers, and maintain a disciplined delivery cadence focused on outcomes, not simply activities. Ensure adherence to organisational standards, financial controls, and audit requirements.
- Collaboration and Relationship Management: Build strong partnerships across Finance, Technology, Legal and Operations to drive shared ownership of outcomes. Act as a trusted delivery leader who can challenge constructively, influence decisions, and guide teams through change. Facilitate effective collaboration to support integrated solution design and delivery. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Apply strong communication and relationship‑building skills to influence, shape, and drive colleagues toward agreed outcomes.
- Essential: Proven experience leading delivery of projects within Finance Operations, Shared Services, or a similar environment. Strong understanding of finance processes (e.g., AR, AP, GL, month‑end close, reconciliations, order‑to‑cash). Solid project management skills with experience using methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Proficiency with project management tools and MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Desirable: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft). Background in process automation (RPA, workflow tools, data integrations). Professional certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile PM). Experience in a regulated or audit‑heavy environment.
- Proactive, pragmatic, and comfortable taking ownership in complex delivery environments.
- Able to cut through ambiguity, prioritise effectively, and keep momentum when conditions change.
- Detail-oriented, with a structured, outcome-focused approach to delivery.
- Strong collaborator who builds trust quickly and challenges constructively.
- Confident operating in fast-moving, multi-stakeholder settings with competing priorities.
