Based in Bradford / hybrid working

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to define and establish the technical architecture, engineering standards, and governance required to support a 'Data as a Product' operating model. The successful candidate will help design and document the standards needed to ensure data products are:

  • Discoverable
  • Valuable

  • Accessible and performant

  • Trustworthy

Working within a cloud-based analytics environment (GCP is preferred but not essential), you will develop standards covering areas such as:

  • Data modelling, naming conventions, key management, dataset structures, and layering
  • Semantic layer design, including dimensions, aggregations, joins, and user-facing data models
  • Metadata and documentation standards
  • Schema design and data modelling best practices
  • Partitioning and clustering strategies
  • Data governance controls, including policy tagging
  • Star schema and analytical model design

You will also advise on implementing these standards as code, establishing monitoring and governance processes, and ensuring ongoing compliance across data engineering teams and delivery partners. This role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on practitioner with proven experience implementing Data as a Product frameworks within large or complex organisations. You will provide leadership to both business and technical stakeholders, helping embed best practices and drive adoption across internal teams and external partners.
