My client, an exciting UK Digital Bank, is looking to hire a Head of Digital Engineering on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC), to join their London based hybrid team (3 days in the office). You will be reporting to the Director of Engineering, and lead a core engineering pillar, shaping how they deliver and scale its digital platform.
You will be leading the delivery of their customer facing platforms and cloud native services, building the capability and structure required to scale engineering effectively as they continue through this transformation. You will lead a team of 30 engineers, and spearhead the development, integration and deployment of solutions with a particular focus on adopting agile and DevOps, and driving technical excellence in software delivery. This will include driving the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance the engineering capabilities, including microservices, containerization, Google Cloud, and integrating AI/ML tools and APIs into the digital products.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Proven Experience in a Head of Engineering role, preferably with some Financial Services experience
- Experience delivering in a cloud-native environment (GCP / AWS / Azure) and utilising microservices / containerization / Kubernetes / Docker
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Technical background with experience on traditional and modern technology stacks (Flutter, Go, TypeScript etc) would be highly beneficial
- Experience working in a regulated environment and familiarity with security standards and compliance frameworks
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
