My client, a large UK Financial Service Organisation is seeking a Head of Technology Operations to build a Technology Operations function from scratch and lead it at national scale to join their London based office. This role will be 3 days/week in office.
This is a true greenfield opportunity. The platform already processes around one-third of all UK card-present transactions, which will be migrated into this new business pillar. The organisation is mid-transformation and looking for someone energised by a blank sheet of paper to design, implement, and lead end-to-end technology operations.
You will be responsible for the design and build a full Tech Operations capability: SRE, incident & problem management, ITSM, resilience, disaster recovery, and tooling as well as defining the Target Operating Model (TOM) for Ops Technology and implement best-in-class operational processes from scratch.
Who we’re looking for:
- Proven experience building Technology Operations / SRE functions from scratch in a digital-first environment.
- Strong engineering mindset and experience with cloud-native, distributed systems.
- Ability to clearly articulate the decisions, trade-offs, and rationale behind how the function was designed and scaled.
- Comfortable operating in a regulated, high-availability environment with national critical infrastructure responsibilities.
