An exciting opportunity has arisen to cover maternity leave working in a Supply Chain function as a Procurement Engineer with BAE Systems based at Samlesbury.
The role will involve:
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, manage supplier performance and improvement activities.
- Manage the order book from order placement to delivery, including the identification and resolution of issues which may potentially affect the supply of parts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers.
- Regularly review stock levels against consumption to ensure that the range and scale available aligns with current requirements.
- Working closely with other functions across the business to manage the production order book.
- This role may require occasional travel to other UK Sites.
Typical duties include:
- Raising purchase orders.
- Regular communication with suppliers.
- Maintain order book information.
- Ensure prompt payment of invoices.
- Provide updates to internal customers.
