Where will you be working?

At BGEN we help our clients in building new assets and to optimise existing assets, which play a crucial role in reducing carbon footprints to meet net-zero targets. We are skilled at navigating complex regulated environments and are the powerhouse technical engineering and digital solutions offering in the UK market. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. This role is in our Infrastructure team, our team is responsible for multi‑disciplinary MEICA engineering design, off‑site fabrication & capital project construction services; asset maintenance & systems integration. Energy, Telecoms & Water sectors across the Group.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership and growth: Lead the business unit’s strategic direction to achieve significant revenue growth, margin improvement and market leadership in complex MEICA delivery, to deliver cÂŁ90M growing organically to cÂŁ180M turnover per year within 3‑to‑4‑year cycle achieving blended margin at +10% EBITDA.
  • Operational excellence and delivery: Ensure consistent, efficient and innovative end‑to‑end MEICA operations across all frameworks, projects and manufacturing activities.
  • P&L, commercial and financial management: Take full accountability for P&L performance, commercial governance, financial discipline and operational risk management.
  • Safety, compliance and quality governance: Maintain uncompromising standards of health, safety, compliance and quality across all operational environments.
  • Organisational leadership & people development: Build and develop high performing workforce of 700+ self‑delivery team, including c400 field and 100 manufacturing operatives ensuring effective organisation design, talent development and succession planning.
  • Client, stakeholder & supply chain management: Strengthen strategic client relationships and lead development of a resilient supply chain that supports scalable high‑quality delivery.

Qualifications

  • Significant MEICA leadership experience of large multidisciplinary organisations within highly regulated infrastructure sectors, including Water and Energy.
  • A strong track record of delivering and scaling technically complex MEICA frameworks and capital projects.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing P&L, cash generation, margin improvement and operational risk.
  • A collaborative and influential leadership style with excellent communication skills.
  • A growth mindset with experience in year‑on‑year growth, transformation and change leadership.
  • Strategic thinking and decision‑making capability with experience driving innovation, standardisation and continuous improvement.
