About The Role Morrison Data Services are looking for an IT Business Analyst who will be responsible for utilising software and business analysis tools, modelling techniques and using feasibility requirement studies to produce business and system requirement specifications for IT development teams, as well as reporting and resolving suspected non-compliance software issues.

We’re looking for someone with industry experience.
This role can be based in Newcastle or from home.
What you’ll be doing: Communicate with external and internal customers.
Liaise with internal and external customers to gather business requirements, using a range of methodologies.
Work with the IT team to identify changes that are required to current IT systems and assess the potential impact on business processes, whilst always ensuring that company interests are observed by relevant internal and external parties.
Utilise appropriate toolsets, modelling techniques etc.
in performing structured analysis and supporting documentation for the purposes of system improvement / new system design ensuring quality standards are adhered to.
Complete and document cost benefits analysis to ensure any changes are fit for purpose.
Contribute to system change requests and change control data, produce and present training documentation and internal system operating guides as required.
Manage scope / change requests through the project lifecycle.
Utilise software and business analysis tools.
Be responsible for taking a continuous improvement approach and seeking to maximize efficiency through business process review.
Actively seek to understand the company strategy and the impact this may have on future business requirements / objectives and to translate these into system and or customer service improvement opportunities.
Be responsible for keeping abreast of industry and business change, maintaining expert industry knowledge status.
Use feasibility requirement studies to produce systems requirement and to-be design specifications for IT Development.
Be responsible for ensuring that all requirements and business processes are mapped correctly for each change accepted.
Produce a variety of outputs such as Business Requirement Specifications and System Requirement Specificaions.
Report and resolving suspected non-compliance software issues.
Assess feasibility of commercial tenders and their impact on the business, represent company at Industry Regulator Forums and Industry Expert Groups, and maintain regular contact with external customers and various internal sections of the company.
What we need from you: Previous experience in a BA rolewith a good understanding of IT-driven change.
Experience within the Energy Industry Able to provide input to system change requests and change control data including the provision of operating documentation.
Previous experience of liaising with third party interfaces and performing functional, system interfacing and business testing.
Experience working in a continuous improvement environment, with exposure to a number of analysis methodologies.
Excellent verbal, numerical and communication skills.
Proactive attitude to work.
Ability to operate as a team player, build positive rapport at all levels and deliver results under pressure.
