We are looking to recruit an Experienced Mechanical Estimator to work within our team. This role will support the M&E Services Estimating Manager and estimation team in the effective and successful submission of comprehensive and competitive tenders.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Commence all relevant work in relation to receipt of a tender enquiry such as analysing the project, breaking out subcontractor and supplier enquiries, selecting suitable subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Submitting tender and breakdown to client and responding to any necessary queries.
  • Preparation of pricing documents and the formatting of these documents into the standard layout i.e. estimating software or traditional full analytical breakdown.
  • Liaising with other parts of the business such as operations team regarding programme analysis and surveyors during the progress of the works.
  • Undertake site surveys to analyse any potential risks and highlight as appropriate.
  • Ensure estimate files are maintained accurately in line with company processes and procedures.

Client

  • Applying strong presentation and communication skills when liaising with Clients and consultants.
  • Developing and maintaining a strong customer/supplier network.
  • Liaising effectively with design teams and client representatives.
  • Continually seeking opportunities to enhance relationships and service provision to clients, both internal and external.
  • Have ability to formulate and present suitable value engineered options.

  • The successful candidate will ensure compliance with company processes and procedures, act responsibly in line with the business culture and values, and support a one-business culture through open and effective communication.

General

  • The role also requires a commitment to learning and development, strong time management, technical, planning and communication skills, and relevant experience aligned to the responsibilities of the position.

This is a hybrid role, with time split between office and home working. You should have excellent communications skills as you will be required to express your opinions both in writing and verbally at internal and external meetings. In addition, you should be able to demonstrate a good track record of working with clients to meet their expectations as well as to deliver for the business.

Application criteria

  • Successful candidates will hold a valid driving licence, be IT literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and be capable of adapting to new software systems.
  • Experience using Trimble Estimation Software or equivalent is required, and a current CSCS card is preferred.

The role comes with an attractive starting salary, dependent on experience, plus car allowance.
