Morris & Spottiswood is a leading provider of fitout, refurbishment, retrofit and construction services in the UK. An independently owned firm, with a proud track record of excellence, we aim high, act responsibly and value our staff and customers.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join our team on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role reports to the Estimating Manager and will offer training, mentoring and career development opportunities. It is based at our Bristol Office with hybrid working available 2‑3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, price and submit tenders to a high standard.
- Use analytical estimating knowledge and prepare contract preliminaries.
- Manage multiple tenders and tight deadlines, working independently.
- Negotiate and liaise effectively with clients, consultants, architects, suppliers and subcontractors, building strong relationships.
Qualifications:
- Experience working for a main contractor, predominantly within fit‑out or general construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and commercial acumen.
- Excellent negotiation, communication (both written and verbal) and team working skills.
- Confidence to work on your own initiative and manage multiple projects.
Personal Attributes:
- Successful candidates have proven success within a similar role, good communication skills, ability to work well as part of a team, and interact positively with colleagues across offices and clients from multiple accounts.
