The role

We are looking for a Data/Survey Programmer to join our team in a brand-new role designed to streamline our operations. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced agency environment, taking ownership of essential, day-to-day data and scripting tasks. You will use your technical skills to ensure our data foundation is sound, handling multiple fast-turnaround projects concurrently. This is an internal, technical role for someone with excellent team working skills and with data technician or relevant industry work experience or qualifications desirable.

What you’ll be doing

  • Survey Scripting & Logic Programming: Acting as a survey scripter, transforming questionnaires from our research team into face-to-face or online surveys. You will program complex routing, skip logic and quotas, to deliver user-optimised surveys that are engaging and visually appealing.
  • Quality Assurance & Survey Testing: Lead the testing phases for surveys pre-launch. In a fast-paced environment, you will rigorously test logic, links, and translations to ensure they are error-free before going live to field.
  • Live Fieldwork data updates: Monitor live data collection to ensure quotas are filling correctly and data is captured cleanly, spotting any technical glitches or data anomalies early.
  • Data Cleansing & Verification: Apply a high level of attention to detail to check, clean, and validate raw survey data. You will format datasets into clean, analysis-ready files.
  • Internal Team Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to hit tight deadlines, acting as the vital backbone to keep fast-turnaround research projects moving smoothly.

About You

You’re naturally curious, highly analytical, and eager to learn how complex datasets are transformed into powerful, actionable insights from the ground up. With good communication skills, you love collaborating with different teams and supporting those around you by ensuring our data foundation is sound in a fast-paced agency environment. You balance a structured, rigorous approach to your technical tasks with a proactive problem-solving mindset, and you are the kind of person who notices the tiny anomalies others might miss and enjoys connecting the dots in data.

You’ll do well here if you:

  • Have an appetite to turn data into direction and insight into impact.
  • Have previous experience in data processing, scripting or programming.
  • Can take the initiative and work at pace independently.
  • Communicate simply and persuasively and love collaborating.
  • Have a growth mindset and want to develop your skills and career path.

Experience and skills in Snap, Crunch, Python, R, PowerPoint (or similar) are a bonus.
