We are currently seeking an Electrical Estimator, with experience in pricing all client and main contractor electrical works. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven record in preparing, pricing and submitting tenders to a high quality and have full analytical estimating knowledge of Electrical and relevant industry experience. Working within the existing team, you will attend all pre-tender meetings, liaising with the client and project teams, ensuring that all tenders submitted are competitive.
The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge & experience of both Mechanical & Electrical installation (with a bias in Electrical) projects up to a value of £1m. You will also be working to tight timescales and be expected to manage multiple tenders at any one time, whilst continuing to deliver high quality work. Successful candidates will be educated to at least SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, demonstrating a strong understanding of Estimating issues. Knowledge of Amtech / Trimble Estimation Software would be an advantage.
You will have strong commercial acumen with good negotiation skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and architects to build robust ongoing relationships.
Personal AttributesThe successful individual will be a dedicated Electrical Estimator with at least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role. An analytical approach and excellent time management skills are imperative to the role. You should have good communications skills as you will be required to express your opinions both in writing and verbally at internal and external meetings, with the ability to work well as part of a team, interacting positively with colleagues and clients.
The successful candidates must be:
- Flexible in terms of hours worked
- Computer Literate, knowledge of Amtech / Trimble Estimation Software would be an advantage
- Have a full UK driving licence
- Have a minimum of 2-3 years estimating experience in an Electrical role
- Preferably come from an Electrical works background
Salary is dependent on experience with healthcare benefits and competitive car allowance.
Remuneration:£40,000 - £47,500 + £4,500 car allowance
Couple healthcare membership
5% Employers Pension Contributions
Holidays:33 total annual days (including public holidays) plus an extra half day on birthday
Other information:Standard hours of work: 8am – 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am – 4pm on Friday’s (1-hour lunch each day)
Successful candidates will initially work from home, with future attendance at our Livingston office.
