Practice Manager in Cornwall

Morrab Surgery is a growing and ambitious GP practice based in Penzance, delivering high-quality primary care to our local community. Following a period of significant structural and operational change, we are entering a new phase of development and are looking to appoint a Practice Manager to take day-to-day responsibility for the smooth running of the practice. The Practice Manager will play a vital role in stabilising systems, embedding improvements, and ensuring our processes and teams are aligned to meet the increasing demands of modern general practice.

Main duties of the job: As Practice Manager, you will lead the operational management of the practice including staffing, rotas, premises, IT, patient services, and supplier relationships. You'll be instrumental in embedding recent changes (such as our triage model, digital tools, and long-term condition management systems) and ensuring the practice functions effectively on a day-to-day basis. This role comes at a pivotal time – we’ve made real progress in recruitment, financial recovery, and system development, but there is still work to do. You will join a committed and supportive team determined to build a more resilient, responsive, and well-structured practice.

The role is a key part of the practice's leadership structure, supporting the Business Partner in delivering strategic goals while ensuring operational stability and resilience.

Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Lead day-to-day operations including appointment systems, staff rotas, estates, IT, and supplier relationships. Ensure clinical demand is managed via structured triage using AccuRx, and that staff adhere to agreed protocols.
