Morpeth Mansions is a well-maintained 52-flat, period mansion block occupied largely by families in Westminster. We are looking for a Caretaker/Handyman (or woman) who takes pride in looking after our building and making sure it is kept safe, clean, tidy and well maintained for the benefit of residents. This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who enjoys being busy, notices what needs doing and takes satisfaction from getting things done. You will not be expected to spend your working time monitoring CCTV from behind a desk; you will be expected to walk the estate, identify problems, resolve what you can yourself and organise contractors where specialist skills are required. The successful candidate will be organised, reliable and efficient, with a practical approach and good attention to detail. You will be comfortable carrying out a wide variety of tasks, from checking the condition of the building and common areas to minor repairs, tidying, sweeping, changing light bulbs, clearing drains, cleaning carpets, touching up paintwork and helping ensure the estate remains in excellent condition. You will be a team player who can build good relationships with residents, cleaners, contractors and board members.
