The Global Corporates Rating Group is seeking a highly motivated corporate credit analyst to join its London team as a Vice President. In this role, you will be responsible for covering a wide range of corporate credits across Europe, performing financial statement analysis, building financial forecasts, and preparing rating committee materials, press releases, and rating reports. You will also develop a strong understanding of the overall credit analysis process. In addition, you will manage relationships with issuers and bankers as needed, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, timely, and topical research. The role involves credit analysis across various business sectors, with a particular focus on the broader energy sector, including generation, utilities, and related services. Experience in these sectors would be an asset.
Job Responsibilities
- Assume coverage of existing corporate ratings, assess credit worthiness and maintain rating opinions of various issuers.
- Perform and contribute to new rating assignments.
- Manage the rating process including presenting recommendations to the rating committee.
- Produce timely, high-quality rating reports, research notes and industry studies.
- Build and maintain relationships with issuers, investors and bankers.
- Provide transparent and timely service to rated issuers, investors and other market participants.
- Contribute to the refinement of research products and rating methodologies.
- Analytically support business development initiatives.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of business experience, with experience in credit, finance and/or lending within the financial services industry.
- University degree in accounting, business, economics or a related discipline.
- Solid research, analytical and modelling skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Strong communication (verbal and written), presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter and team player with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Nice to have
- Another European language such as Spanish, German or French is an asset.
- Completion of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program is a plus.
