Morliny Foods is one of Europe’s largest quality meat producers, operating across Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Spain, France, Germany, and the UK. As part of the WH Group global family (alongside Smithfield Foods Inc), we deliver high-quality cooked, chilled, and fresh pork and poultry products to customers across Retail, Foodservice, and B2B channels. We are on a strong growth trajectory, backed by world-class manufacturing, supply chain, and category capabilities. While our core business is cooked meats, recent investments have seen us expand into wider categories including Pet Food, reflecting the breadth, ambition and financial strength of our long-term strategy.
The UK Business is lean, agile and entrepreneurial, giving our commercial team real autonomy, high visibility, and the ability to influence both strategic and day-to-day outcomes. If you’re looking for a business that combines European scale with start-up pace, this could be your perfect next step.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact commercial role managing a portfolio of strategically important UK retail customers. You’ll take ownership of key relationships, grow distribution, and expand listings, not just through traditional range extension, but by identifying adjacent commercial opportunities across cooked meats, meal solutions, sous-vide, and charcuterie.
The role requires comfort working across multiple product types and trading models, from volume-led commodity ranges to value-added innovation. Internally, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally and across borders, managing relationships with manufacturing partners in Europe, as well as internal UK stakeholders in supply chain, NPD, and technical.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Take full commercial ownership of a portfolio of UK retail accounts, leading the development and delivery of annual trading plans and customer strategies.
- Lead all aspects of customer relationship management, from top-to-top engagement through to day-to-day trading, supply and commercial delivery.
- Shape and execute strategic growth plans, including adjacent product opportunities (e.g. from cooked poultry into sous-vide, charcuterie, or meal solutions).
- Manage a diverse commercial mix of price-driven volume lines and value-added chilled products, balancing trading excellence with long-term category growth.
- Negotiate and implement robust Joint Business Plans, pricing frameworks, and promotional strategies, with strong margin and profitability focus.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams (technical, NPD, supply chain, finance, category) to deliver tailored solutions and unlock incremental value.
- Influence NPD and innovation pipelines, identifying white space opportunities that match UK retailer needs and existing production capabilities.
- Lead internal commercial planning, forecasting and budgeting processes with full P&L responsibility for your customer base.
- Coordinate across European sites and teams to align on production, availability, and customer-specific development.
- Champion entrepreneurial thinking and strategic initiative, working as part of a lean, agile and ambitious UK commercial team.
