About the Role
Teach jazz and blues piano to adult learners across a range of abilities, from beginners to advanced students. Deliver two blues piano classes and two jazz piano classes per week, held Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 18:30 to 21:30 during term time.
About You
Inspirational jazz and blues pianist with strong performing experience. Relevant degree in Jazz Performance or Music. Solid experience teaching piano to adult learners across a range of levels. Demonstrates current developments in jazz education, comfortable with technology, and committed to nurturing each student's musical voice. Patient, encouraging, professionally organised, and believes in adult and community education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver jazz and blues piano lessons to adult learners.
- Design and assess learning outcomes for two blues and two jazz piano classes each week.
- Use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Support students in developing their harmonic vocabulary and improvisational voice.
- Maintain a safe learning environment and adhere to safeguarding policies.
