Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Technician specializing in Furniture Making and or Fashion, located at the Chelsea Centre for Creative Industries, London. The Technician will support the efficient delivery of practical workshops by preparing materials, equipment, and classrooms for teaching. Duties include maintaining tools and workshop spaces, ensuring their safety and readiness, providing technical assistance to staff and students, and supporting the upkeep of a safe and organized learning environment. The ideal candidate would be able to support both Furniture Making and Fashion workshops, but we will consider job shares as well.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in furniture-making techniques, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery
  • Knowledge of fashion-related skills, such as garment construction, pattern cutting, and textile handling
  • Experience in maintaining and safely operating workshop equipment and tools
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage workshop spaces effectively
