This is an exciting 12-month fixed-term maternity cover opportunity to join MORI as a Retail Buyer during a dynamic period of growth commencing March 2026. In this role, you’ll work with market-leading brands across the baby and kids’ industry and play a key part in shaping the future of MORI’s marketplace. You’ll have real ownership, influence strategic decisions, and collaborate with passionate teams across the business to drive commercial success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with the Merchandiser to drive the commercial performance of our marketplace, delivering against key KPIs including sales, margin, and profitability.
  • Lead supplier negotiations across commercial terms, brand margins, payment terms, shipping costs, and promotional opportunities.
  • Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of 40+ brands and 1,300+ product options, building strong supplier relationships and impactful brand collaborations.
  • Curate a compelling product assortment aligned to MORI’s wider business strategy, identifying new opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Shape and deliver seasonal buying strategies that align with broader company campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Growth and E-commerce teams to optimise brand visibility, navigation, and performance across our website and social channels.
  • Work closely with the Retail Area Manager and retail store teams to tailor store-specific assortments and unlock growth opportunities across our growing number of stores.
  • Partner with the Creative team to seamlessly integrate branded products into campaigns and photoshoots.
  • Stay close to market trends and competitor activity, identifying opportunities that support growth while remaining true to MORI’s brand values.
What We’re Looking For
  • You bring 4+ years of experience in a branded buying or commercial trading role, with a proven track record of delivering profitable growth across multichannel retail environments.
  • You bring previous branded buying experience across both online and physical retail channels, ideally within the toys and nursery categories. Similar category experience will also be considered.
  • You’re highly commercial and analytical, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into decisions aligned with key business KPIs and objectives.
  • You have a strong eye for product and brands, with a natural instinct for curating ranges that resonate with customers and drive performance.
  • You’re confident in building strong, collaborative relationships across functions, working effectively with teams throughout the business.
  • You’re a clear, credible communicator who influences with confidence and works seamlessly with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach, comfortable with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” mentality.
