About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Operations to own the performance and continued development of MORI's global operations, from placed purchase order through to final customer delivery.

This is a hands‑on leadership role.

You will lead a lean Operations team and our key external logistics partners, ensuring the day‑to‑day operation runs effectively while continually improving how we work as the business scales.

You will need to be comfortable getting into the detail when required, while also identifying risks and opportunities, setting priorities and leading longer‑term improvement.

A key part of the role is ensuring Operations acts as a strong business partner across MORI, working closely with Commercial, Merchandising, Product, Marketing, Retail, Finance and Customer Care.

You will report directly to the CFO, manage a team of three and oversee our UK and US 3PL relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Business Partnering
  • Lead, coach and develop the Operations team, creating clear ownership and accountability.
  • Act as the operational business partner across MORI, ensuring Operations is involved early in new retailer, channel, product and promotional initiatives.
  • Own operational planning and readiness for key trading periods, particularly Black Friday/Cyber Monday and Christmas.
  • Lead the monthly S&OP process and present operational performance, risks and recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Lead strategic operational projects and drive cross-functional execution.
  • Operational Performance & Peak Planning
  • Ensure MORI has the operational capacity, stock visibility, processes and contingency plans required to support planned sales volumes and promotional activity.
  • Own operational readiness for Peak and other major trading events, working closely with internal teams and logistics partners.
  • Translate commercial forecasts and trading plans into warehouse, fulfilment, packaging and logistics requirements.
  • Identify emerging operational risks early and ensure appropriate mitigation or escalation.
  • Establish clear operating rhythms and KPIs across the Operations function.
  • 3PL, Fulfilment & Supply Chain
  • Own the operational and commercial relationships with MORI's UK and US 3PL partners.
  • Monitor and improve service levels, capacity, inventory accuracy and cost-to-serve.
  • Translate commercial forecasts into warehouse, fulfilment, packaging and logistics requirements.
  • Oversee international inbound freight, customs and freight-forwarder performance.
  • Maintain strong controls around inventory accuracy across warehouses, retail, wholesale and consignment.
  • Oversee final-mile performance and work with Customer Care and logistics partners to address recurring delivery issues.
  • Wholesale & Omnichannel Operations
  • Ensure wholesale partners are fulfilled in line with routing guides, SLAs and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee EDI processes and resolve operational issues, chargebacks and retailer compliance failures.
  • Ensure the operational requirements for new retailers, dropship partners and channels are understood and planned before launch.
  • Work cross-functionally to support effective stock allocation, fulfilment and returns across DTC, wholesale, retail and dropship.
  • Process Improvement, Systems & Controls
  • Continuously improve operational processes, reducing manual effort, errors, cost and risk.
  • Develop scalable ways of working as MORI grows across channels and markets.
  • Identify practical opportunities to use automation and AI to improve efficiency, visibility and controls.
  • Own operational KPIs and use data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Own or contribute to Operations budgets and forecasts, challenging costs while protecting service and customer experience.

What we're looking for

  • 5–8+ years' experience in operations, logistics or supply chain, with several years owning outcomes independently.
  • Experience in a high-SKU, omnichannel consumer business, ideally including DTC and wholesale.
  • Hands‑on ownership of 3PL relationships, fulfilment and international freight/customs.
  • Experience with retailer requirements including EDI, routing guides, SLAs and chargebacks.
  • Proven people‑management experience, including developing and performance‑managing teams.
  • Experience improving operational processes and leading cross‑functional change.
  • Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to balance service, cost, speed and operational risk.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where systems are not always perfect and strong processes, controls and communication are essential.
  • Able to operate both strategically and hands‑on, knowing when to get into the detail and when to delegate.
  • Strong communicator and problem‑solver, comfortable challenging plans constructively and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in Operations, Logistics or Supply Chain are welcome but not essential.
  • Location & Attendance
  • Full‑time 40 hours per week
  • Based at our dog‑friendly West London HQ
  • Hybrid working: minimum 2 days per month at HQ

Package

  • 24 days holiday leave annually + UK public bank holidays
