The Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Assistant Merchandiser to support the merchandising function across range planning, trading, and inventory management. You will play a vital role in ensuring our product is available at the right time, in the right place, and in the right quantities, driving both sales and customer satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, has strong organisational skills, and wants to grow within a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Range Planning & Trading

  • Assist in building seasonal and continuity ranges that balance commercial performance with MORI’s brand identity.
  • Track weekly sales, stock, and margin performance, highlighting bestsellers and slow movers.
  • Support preparation of trade packs and analysis for weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Analyse historical sales and current trends to inform demand forecasts.
  • Produce accurate and timely reports on trade, stock cover, and replenishment.
  • Provide insights that influence trading and buying decisions.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor stock levels daily across categories, channels, and warehouses.
  • Manage continuity rebuys to ensure full availability.
  • Track intake, deliveries, and allocations to ensure smooth product flow across DTC and Wholesale channels.
  • Highlight risks of overstock or understock, recommending actions to maximise sales and minimise markdowns.
  • Support the MAA (Merchandising Admin Assistant) in working with suppliers, logistics, and operations to ensure timely delivery of stock into warehouses.

Critical Path & Delivery Management

  • Ownership of the product critical path from order placement through to launch, in conjunction with Buying and Design.
  • Work with the MAA to track supplier delivery schedules, escalating risks to ensure on-time intake.
  • Coordinate with Operations to make sure stock is launch-ready for marketing campaigns and peak periods.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Buying and Design to align range planning with sales and stock insights.
  • Collaborate with E-commerce to ensure stock availability and correct online setup.
  • Work with Operations and Warehousing to optimise stock flow and allocation.
  • Communicate inventory and trading updates clearly to wider teams.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years’ experience in merchandising, inventory management, or allocation (fashion, babywear, or lifestyle sector preferred).
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data analysis).
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Clear communicator and collaborative team player.
  • Commercially minded with a passion for product and the MORI brand.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building processes and frameworks.
