The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.
Main purpose: To work as part of a professional team within the Cognition and Learning Unit, to organise and support teaching and learning activities for pupils, including classes. The Cognition and Learning Unit is a newly established, distinct provision within our established mainstream primary school, supporting approximately 12 pupils with cognition and learning needs. Pupils will access highly personalised teaching within the Unit for the majority of the school week, alongside planned and supported integration into mainstream classes and activities for up to 50% of their learning time.
Key responsibilities:
- Support pupils with cognition and learning needs both within the unit and mainstream classrooms
- Deliver targeted interventions and personalised learning activities
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and families
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
- Adapt resources and teaching approaches to meet individual needs
- Encourage independence, communication, and social interaction
- Provide cover for short periods e.g. meetings and PPA
Desirable:
- Experience supporting pupils with cognition and learning difficulties
- Knowledge of SEND strategies and interventions
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications and/or SEN training
