An exciting opportunity for a Software Developer with strong Python and Django experience to join a collaborative digital team. You'll play a key role in developing and enhancing web applications, supporting system integrations and delivering technology solutions that support strategic business objectives. Working as part of a close-knit development team, you will design, build and maintain web applications and services, delivering secure, scalable and high-quality solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining applications using Python, Django and related technologies
- Writing clean, secure and testable code
- Supporting and enhancing existing systems and applications
- Gathering requirements and collaborating with stakeholders on technical solutions
- Designing and implementing APIs and system integrations
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Working across front-end and back-end development
- Participating in code reviews and supporting knowledge sharing within the team
- Ensuring development work follows best practice for testing, security and documentation
- Supporting UAT, testing and software releases
- Contributing to continuous improvement of development processes and technologies
Essential:
- Commercial experience developing with Python
- Experience using Django
- Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Experience with SQL and database design
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions
- Experience working with Bash and command-line tools
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Strong understanding of software development best practice
