Our client, a leading and highly recognised insurance organisation, is seeking an experienced Office Manager / Space Planning Manager to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This newly created role offers the opportunity to lead a high-profile workplace planning project, focused on creating an efficient, collaborative, and future-ready office environment.
Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will help shape how workspace is utilised, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of teams while enhancing the overall employee experience.
The Role:
As the Office Manager / Space Planning and Workplace Project Manager, you will take ownership of office space utilisation across the business. Working closely with department heads and key stakeholders, you will gather data, assess current workplace layouts, and develop practical space plans that align with operational needs. This is a highly visible role requiring someone who is confident engaging with people at all levels, comfortable carrying out workplace walkthroughs, and able to translate business requirements into effective office layouts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage workplace space planning projects across the organisation.
- Analyse occupancy data and review existing floor plans.
- Engage with business leaders and teams to understand current and future space requirements.
- Conduct workplace observations and office walkarounds to assess utilisation.
- Create and maintain desk allocation plans and seating arrangements.
- Assess team structures, departmental growth plans, and workspace requirements.
- Gather information on technology, equipment, and infrastructure needs.
- Collaborate with Facilities, IT, HR, and senior stakeholders to ensure space solutions meet business objectives.
- Make recommendations to optimise office layouts, capacity, collaboration spaces, and employee experience.

About You:
- Proven experience in space planning, workplace planning, or facilities space management.
- Strong experience creating and managing desk plans and office layouts.
- Previous experience delivering workplace or office move projects.
- Confident stakeholder manager with the ability to build relationships across all levels of a business.
- Comfortable approaching teams, conducting walkthroughs, and gathering requirements independently.
- Strong project management skills with excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- Experience interpreting floor plans, occupancy data, and workplace utilisation information.
- Proactive, personable, and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
