Communications Officer in Billericay

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Officer to join our team and play a key role in ensuring residents, Council employees and key stakeholders are kept informed of activity,resultsand positive stories from our partnership with Basildon Borough Council.

About the role

As our Communications Officer you will thrive working in a fast-paced team, promoting,managingand protecting the partnership through proactive and reactive public relations and delivering on an integrated communications plan. You willbe responsible formanaging the content used in the councils communications channels and producing engaging content that help inform residents of the repairs and maintenance partnership.

Working closely with the Tenant and Engagement team and the Council communications team to deliver engagement opportunities and events, you will build relationships with residents and capture invaluable insights which you can then feedback to the wider teams.

The role is based in Basildon and will require working from the Basildon Civic offices for a minimum of three days a week.

About you

Naturally, you will be a people-person with an inquisitive nature and a creative flair! A confident self-starter with a real passion for creating engaging stories and using a variety of web and social media tools, you will have demonstrable experience in communications and will be confident capturing and editing videos, and using design packages such as Illustrator,Photoshopand Adobe packages.

An understanding of working in a political local government/ public sector environment would be welcomed and we would particularly like to hear from those who have experience in resident engagement or community development.

Holding a driving licence is essential, with some evening workrequired.
