We are delivering works as part of Network Rail’s CP7 Western Structures & Network Enhancements Framework (2024–2029), a £100m programme focused on the renewal and reconstruction of key structural assets across the Western region. Projects typically include bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, and wider infrastructure enhancement schemes such as new stations and Access for All (AfA) upgrades.
We are seeking a motivated Section Engineer with civil engineering and structures experience in a rail environment. This role is ideal for someone with reasonable site experience looking to develop further within a major long‑term framework.
Role Responsibilities- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality (QA/QC) requirements across site activities.
- Support day‑to‑day site management, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Undertake occasional setting‑out tasks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering standards.
- Assist in delivering structural and civils works across bridges, tunnels, retaining structures, and enhancement schemes.
- Collaborate with site teams, supervisors, and project engineers to maintain progress and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation, inspections, and compliance records.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of projects within the £100m framework through to 2029.
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Reasonable site experience within a civil engineering or structural environment.
- Experience working on rail infrastructure projects, ideally involving structures such as bridges, tunnels, or retaining walls.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and quality requirements in a rail environment.
- Ability to contribute effectively to site management and engineering delivery.
- Confident communicator with good organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with Network Rail standards and working practices (desirable but not essential).
