About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Engineering Function (MEICA) and play a key role in delivering large-scale, multidisciplinary construction projects. From design through to handover, you’ll ensure compliance with legislative and project requirements, uphold Morgan Sindall standards, and achieve Perfect Delivery — all while supporting our People Promise. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on complex projects, working collaboratively with technical experts and supply chain partners to deliver excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate technical scope elements, ensuring alignment with functional SMEs and supply chain partners.
  • Review designs, provide technical challenge, and support to achieve performance targets while maintaining cost and schedule.
  • Develop and implement safe, efficient installation methodologies and ensure installations meet functionality criteria for commissioning.
  • Manage work packages, including scope definition, procurement, subcontract award, and administration.
  • Report monthly on performance for your assigned scope.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in a MEICA engineering discipline or related technical field.
  • Engineering Skill Level 4 – Detailed Understanding of your primary discipline, with broader appreciation of multi-disciplined teams.
  • Practical experience at Engineering Experience Level 3 (maintain/manage applications of current technology; design, development, construction, operation).
  • Strong behavioural profile aligned to project needs (Role Complexity Assessment score ≥144).
  • Proven experience delivering engineering scope within multi-functional construction projects.
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel) and ability to produce technical and administrative documentation.
  • Experience applying management systems and processes.

Desirable

  • Membership of a professional body (IET, IMechE), ideally working toward EngTech or IEng status.
  • Experience in design processes, contract management, and construction engineering.
  • Nuclear sector experience on large-scale projects.
  • Accredited training in PUWER, Nuclear Installations Act, CDM Regulations, and Health & Safety at Work Act.
